PV Sindhu will compete in badminton for the first time since her marriage, facing top contenders for the women's singles title at the India Super 750.

Indian badminton star PV Sindhu is set to commence her 2025 season with the Yonex-Sunrise India Open. The third edition of the India Open Super 750 will kick off on January 14 at the KD Jadhav Hall of Indira Gandhi Stadium, featuring players from around the globe. Sindhu, who married last year, will compete in the women's singles at this Super 750 tournament. Her last appearance was at the Syed Modi International Championship 2024, where she claimed the gold medal by defeating China's Luo Yu Wu in straight sets.
Super 750 has been the primary event organized by the Badminton Association of India. In this edition, Olympic champions Viktor Axelsen, An Se Young, and world number one Shi Yuqi will captivate fans on the field. This tournament has been part of the BWF World Tour since its beginning, offering a cash prize of 9,50,000 US dollars and 11,000 points to the winner. In the third edition, 21 players will represent host India. For India, 3 players will compete in men's singles, 4 in women's singles, 2 in men's doubles, 8 in women's doubles, and 4 in mixed doubles. In the previous two editions, 14 players participated from India.
In this edition, attention will be focused on men's doubles Asian gold medalists Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, as well as Asian Games bronze medalist HS Prannoy. Satwik and Chirag reached the finals of the tournament last time, while Prannoy's progress ended in the semifinals. Additionally, 2022 India Open Super 750 Men's Singles Champion and two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu will also be vying for the title.
