RCB released their former captain Faf du Plessis prior to the IPL 2025 auction, and he was not purchased during the auction. Consequently, RCB will now compete with a new captain.

Throughout the tournament, Patidar also impressed with his batting, hitting three quick half-centuries. It is now reported that Rajat Patidar will assume the captaincy of RCB in the IPL 2025.
