During the second innings of the Sydney Test match, Rishabh Pant impressed fans with his explosive batting. Pant amazed the Australian bowlers by hitting a half-century in just 29 balls. This achievement marks the second fastest half-century in the history of Indian Test cricket. Notably, Pant holds the record for the fastest half-century for India in Tests. In 2022, Pant managed to score a half-century in 28 balls during the Test against Sri Lanka. (IND v AUS, 5th Test)

Broke Gambhir's record (Rishabh Pant vs Gautam Gambhir)

In the second innings of the Sydney Test match, Pant was dismissed after scoring 61 runs off 33 balls. During his 61-run innings, he managed to hit 6 fours and 4 sixes. Although Pant was dismissed for 61 runs, this left-handed batsman broke a special record held by his coach, Gautam Gambhir. Rishabh Pant has now surpassed the record for Test runs (1832) outside India set by his current coach, Gautam Gambhir. Pant has accumulated 1842 runs in 29 Test matches played outside India, which includes 4 centuries and 6 half-centuries. Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir played a total of 24 matches in Tests outside India, scoring 1832 runs during that time. Gambhir achieved 4 centuries and 10 half-centuries in Tests outside India.

Besides this, Rishabh Pant has achieved the highest strike rate among Indian batsmen for scores of 50 or more in Test matches. In the second innings, he impressed by scoring 61 runs off 33 balls, achieving a remarkable strike rate of 184.85, the highest for an Indian with a 50+ score in Tests.
